`the grottos
not the nicest places to be, but these small, cramped caves will offer protection from the elements. usually used by loners or those banished from their herd lands. you may find somebody who's alone as well here -- perhaps you could form an alliance.

`the clearing
this is the largest clearing in the forest; it almost seems like a land within a land. there's enough room for many different horses to gather, and this is where new horses or loners come to find themselves a herd or a home. often, leaders and herd members come here to check out new recruits, and if you're patient enough you might stumble across one yourself.

`the waterfall
hidden within the depths of the forest, some exploring horses might stumble upon this small waterfall. it's not a very impressive site, and the water is often just a trickle, but it flows into a beautiful clear pond which is surrounded by green foliage, nourished by the water.
